Manuscript of Existing is presented as an installation of 8 paper panels. The objects featured in this work include a dragon, traditional Javanese house construction, text, sculptures, graffiti, human figures, and animals. The highlights of this work are the dragon imagery that connects the panels, the unfinished construction, and the irregular composition of the images with a dynamic and brutal visual style. Manuscript of Existing essentially explains the complexity of existence. It portrays how existence is not something whole or clearly structured, but rather an ongoing process of continuous development, transformation, and uncertainty. The number 8, in many cultures, is often associated with cycles or eternity. The dragon, representing power and wisdom, in this work symbolizes an uninterrupted journey. Traditional Javanese houses are often seen as symbols of a place offering protection, identity, and peace. The irregularity in the composition of the images reflects the nature of existence, which is not always structured or orderly. The complexity of existence is depicted through the various objects that appear in this work—the dragon, sculptures, graffiti, human figures, animals, and house constructions. Each of these objects represents different dimensions of existence: living beings, culture, history, individual expression, and social constructs. This work rejects the narrative of a stable existence.

Bio Andaru, born in Salatiga in 1992 and currently based in Yogyakarta, studied art and community at the "Tanam Untuk Kehidupan" Community in Salatiga and sculpture at Komroden Haro's studio before completing his formal education in the Fine Arts Department at ISI Yogyakarta. His works span installations, sculptures, and drawings, utilizing diverse media and materials to explore global and personal issues related to socio-cultural and ecological themes. Story of Artist : Bio Andaru

Bio Andaru began his artistic journey as a volunteer with the TUK Community (Tanam untuk Kehidupan) in 2009. A year later, he joined SAPU Upcycle (an upcycling community in Salatiga) led by Sindhu Prasastyo (Ayok). At the time, he was a punk kid on the verge of dropping out of school and – as Nova Ruth described – a "clingy kiddo."  The following year, the punk kid stumbled across two exhibition catalogs in Ayok's collection of art books. One was titled Mencatat Batu (noting stones) by Komroden Haro, and the other was Me Masterpiece by Tri Pamuji Wikanto. "Falling in love" might not capture what Bio felt then, but his heart raced, dopamine surged, oxytocin flooded, and butterflies filled his stomach. No excuses, no hesitation—armed with the addresses of the artists printed on the last pages of the catalogs, Bio set off in his cheap boots to the Ring Road Parangtritis intersection in Yogyakarta, hitching rides on trucks along the way.
